The short version

LingoLens processes your imported media locally on your device whenever possible.
We do not run a user account system and do not store your full video files on our servers.
Some features use third-party services (OpenAI, Azure, AdMob, RevenueCat, Apple) to operate.
In-app purchase billing is handled by Apple; subscription entitlements are managed by RevenueCat.
Support requests are handled by email at support@lingolen.app.

1. Who we are

LingoLens is an iOS app for video translation and subtitle workflows. This Privacy Policy explains what data we process when you use the app and our website at www.lingolen.app.

2. Information we process

2.1 Content you import

You choose files from Photos or Files. Media processing is primarily local on-device. We do not maintain a cloud storage service for your source videos.

2.2 Translation and AI requests

Depending on your selected mode, LingoLens may send text or audio segments to third-party AI providers (for example OpenAI or Azure) to perform translation or speech synthesis. Requests are limited to what is needed to produce the requested output.

2.3 Purchases and subscription status

Purchases are processed by Apple. We receive entitlement status signals through StoreKit/RevenueCat to unlock premium features.

2.4 Ads and measurement

LingoLens may display ads through Google AdMob. If App Tracking Transparency permission is granted, advertising identifiers may be used according to Apple's policy and your consent settings.

2.5 Diagnostics

We may process limited diagnostics such as crash and performance events to keep the app stable.

      We do not sell personal data. We process only what is needed to run app features, billing, support, ads, and reliability.
    

3. How we use information

Run translation, subtitle generation, and voice output features.
Verify purchases and premium access.
Serve ads in the free tier.
Provide support and respond to user requests.
Detect and fix app errors.

4. Data retention

Project history and cached assets are stored in your app sandbox on device until removed by you or by uninstalling the app.

Third-party providers retain and process data under their own policies.

5. Third-party services

LingoLens may integrate the following services:

Apple App Store / StoreKit (billing and subscriptions)
RevenueCat (subscription entitlement infrastructure)
Google AdMob (advertising)
OpenAI APIs (translation-related AI tasks)
Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services (translation or TTS tasks)

Each provider operates under its own terms and privacy policy.

6. Permissions

Photos/Media: import videos and audio files you choose.
Speech recognition or microphone (when enabled by feature): transcription-related functionality.
Tracking (ATT): used only if you allow personalized advertising.

7. Children's privacy

LingoLens is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child submitted personal data, contact us and we will address the request promptly.

8. Your choices

Delete app data by removing projects in-app or uninstalling LingoLens.
Control ad tracking via iOS Settings and ATT permission prompts.
Manage subscriptions in App Store account settings.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised date.
